I've tried several different villa resorts in Bali such as the Elysian (Seminyak), Villa Sentosa (Seminyak), Komaneka (Ubud), the Chedi (Ubud) and Kayumanis (Jimbaran). They are all great resorts with excellent design, good privacy and service. However the price tag is quite high and an excellent option with a more reasonable price tag is the Seri suites in Umalas, Kerobokan. Normally you need to pay 150-300USD/day for a Villa and for many people this is a little bit to expensive. That's why I believe the Seri suite is really a good choice and price wise it's only one third of the cost.

The Seri suite is an excellent choice for people that want privacy and quiet on their holiday. The en-suite rooms that I tried are really well designed and equipped with a TV, DVD, stereo etc. What I missed was a good WIFI-connection since I usually need to check e-mails when on travel. According to the staff at Seri this is going to be installed in the future. To summarize the Seri is an excellent choice for your stay in Bali. It's not located in the crowded areas and therefore very quiet and privacy is ensured. Also it's not far (5 minutes) to the trendier clubs and restaurants but it's recommended you rent a motor since you otherwise have to phone for a taxi.

The more exclusive villas in Seminyak (like the Elysian and Villa Sentosa) have private pools attached to the suite or villa whilst the Seri has a shared pool area. But considering you pay one third of the price the Seri is true value for money. A tip is to reserve rooms over internet since they have a lower price for people booking online.
