As an international main gateway, Bangkok now has two international airport. The new one is Suvarnabhumi Airport located 15 kilometers on the east bound of Bangna Trat Highway in Bang Phli District. The new airport is around 25 kilometer from the center of Bangkok, in the province of Samut Prakarn.

The Suvarnabhumi Airport covers an area of 8,000 acres and has two run ways of 2,200 meters width, each 3,700 meters and 4,000 meters long. The capacity of this new Bangkok airport serves 76 flights per hour with over 3 million tons of cargo per hour. The complete feature of Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok will have 4 runways, resulting in an ultimate capacity of 100 million annual passengers, 112 flights an hour and 6.4 million tons of cargo.
