FLORES ISLAND
Labuan Bajo is the capital town on West Manggarai in the western tip of Flores Island, East Nusa Tenggara. This small town is the main gate to other parts of Flores either by air or sea. The tourism industry in West Manggarai isunder development and is more concentrated in Labuan Bajo.
Tourism facilities such as restaurants, bars and hotels are still very simple. Travelers to Komodo shall fly from Denpasar, Bali to Labuan Bajo then taking a private boat to the island of Komodo. Alternative is by public ferry from Sape harbour, departing daily around 08:00am and arriving Labuan Bajo around 18:00.
Labuan Bajo does not have star hotels nor hotels with swimming pool yet but there is one private boutique hotel with private swimming pool. It is recommended to bring all the travel needs including sunscreen, mosquito balm or spray and hat.

Regular flights links from Bali to Labuan Bajo by Indonesia Air Transport, Merpati Nusantara Airlines and TransNusa.
Public ferry serves daily from Sape Harbour to Labuan Bajo.
Tours and Transportation
There are many travel agents providing local sightseeing tours, diving tours and other adventure tours to other parts of Flores, Manggarai, Komodo Island and Rinca Island.
Most of the local transports are without air conditioned but the travel agents do provide mini bus with air conditioned.
Restaurants
The local restaurants offers mostly Indonesian food and seafood such as fried rice, fried chicked, and fish.
Wide range of local drinks including beers are available on the local bars along the main street to Labuan Bajo Harbor.
