Legian is located just north of Kuta and offers a more sophisticated and laid back scene than in the main Kuta area. There are less backpacker's and Surfer's accommodation and instead you will find much more of a family and couples scene where couples enjoy wedding and honeymoon packages in the Legian Hotels and Accommodation. With traditional Balinese and modern contemporary options it is east to find your perfect hotel. Legian is well situated on the west coast of Bali and is the northern extension of Kuta beach offering the quieter atmosphere where relaxation comes before socializing. Located close to the airport it only takes 30 minutes to reach and commuting around the island is easy using the by-pass system to get around the whole place safely and quickly. The dinning is of a higher standard in Legian than in Kuta, you will find that around the double six area there is a more lively beach scene and some fantastic dining from all around the world, often with the the native chiefs having a large amount of involvement in creating the dishes.
Legian Hotels and Accommodation begins where Kuta left of just to the south, you will find international 3 to 5 star hotels offering family accommodation and couples cottages on the beach as well as long the back roads which make Legian a pleasant place to wander around. The beach front hotels often have a pool garden located just before the beach with sun loungers allowing guests to enjoy the services of the hotel bar and the beach at the same time. As you go further north beyond double six start to see the Seminyak style creeping in. North Seminyak more suited to young couples who are looking to treat their selves with sophisticated contemporary beach living with proximity to the fine dinning of Seminyak. You will usually have services and facilities such as fitness areas and gyms, spa complexes where you will be able to receive classic ad modern treatments. Many of these family resorts also have kids facilities and arts and crafts places where anyone can learn one f the Balinese arts.
There are few budget hotels around Legian in the backpackers sense but there are certainly very good budget family holiday hotels which offer great facilities and a great service for around $30 a night. You can enjoy the traditional themes that are more common in the south of Legian where as in the north the majority of the Legian Hotels and Accommodation is mod-ethnic combining traditional Balinese ideas with modern contemporary tropical living.
Usually you will find that as well as the standard air conditioning in your rooms and hot water in the luxury en suite bathrooms, you will also have a wealth of restaurants inside and out of the hotel and great shopping as well as a vibrant nightlife around the double six area and plenty of scope to book onto tours to see more of what the island has to offer.
