BALI
Kuta is the ever developing tourist Hub of Bali offering all manner of tourists accommodation across the greater area of the Kuta district. There is everything from backpacker's and Surfer's accommodation, to family or couples accommodation as well as wedding and honeymoon packages. All of these are available in the traditional Balinese styles as well as the modern contemporary styles. Kuta is well positioned on the west coast of Bali where you will be able to visit the infamous Kuta beach which is a diverse stretch of beach offering everything from the social areas of poppies to the family areas of Padma.
Kuta is also very close to the airport making arrival and departure easy and with the by pas system close by it is especially easy to travel around the island. Kuta offers an incredible array of reasonably priced food of a very good standard as well as cheap food. The trick with both is to find out where is good, $5 can get you a great main or a sub standard main depending on where you go.
The main types of accommodation include (from the south) the international 3 to 5 star hotels which are located in the south of Kuta close to the Kartika Plaza just north of the airport. Here you will find grand gateways open into beautiful gardens and fabulous entrances lead to impressive hallways. The hotels in Bali are not high-rise ad instead offer a number of bungalows, villas and two storey buildings spread out around the grounds which incorporate the restaurants, pools and the other facilities. These hotels typically run onto the white sand beach which in this area of the beach is the quietest and the sand is perfectly white coral sand. Heading north from here you pass Kuta square and then enter the miss of budget hotels situated slightly further inland and a number of mid range hotels of a good standard on the beach. This area is more suited to young couples and families who are looking for a good all round holiday with excellent value everywhere around you.
The budget hotels in Kuta usually appear as uniform apartment rooms often with shared on separate balconies. Most of the budget hotels have air conditioning although you can still fin even cheaper rooms which are fan cooled and only have cold water for under $5 a night. Further north again and before you get to Legian you start to see everything turning into a family scene where people are relaxed and the quiet and the beach scene is all about chilling and catching rays and wave. There are a number of condotels and brand new hotels popping up all around Kuta which are starting to guide the area into its next developmental stages which point towards a raise in the standard exhibited across Kuta or at least lifting up the budget ranks and strengthening the mid range.
