These hotels typically run onto the white sand beach which in this area of the beach is the quietest and the sand is perfectly white coral sand. Heading north from here you pass Kuta square and then enter the miss of budget hotels situated slightly further inland and a number of mid range hotels of a good standard on the beach. This area is more suited to young couples and families who are looking for a good all round holiday with excellent value everywhere around you.

The budget hotels in Kuta usually appear as uniform apartment rooms often with shared on separate balconies. Most of the budget hotels have air conditioning although you can still fin even cheaper rooms which are fan cooled and only have cold water for under $5 a night. Further north again and before you get to Legian you start to see everything turning into a family scene where people are relaxed and the quiet and the beach scene is all about chilling and catching rays and wave. There are a number of condotels and brand new hotels popping up all around Kuta which are starting to guide the area into its next developmental stages which point towards a raise in the standard exhibited across Kuta or at least lifting up the budget ranks and strengthening the mid range.
