Art works have been well developed and well known as part of Balinese daily life. Paintings in Bali become very famous and admired by many people from all around the world. Bali local painters include I Gusti Nyoman Lempad, Anak Agung Gede Sobrat, Ida Bagus Made, and other foreigner painters such as Antonio Blanco, Arie Smith, Hans Snel, Le Mayeur and Walter Spice have been dedicate themselves to developed and maintain the arts works for many years. Domestic and International painting exhibitions have been regularly done to educate other people appreciating the art works especially Balinese arts and culture.

Balinese Painting Styles
Wayang or Kamasan Style is a kind of puppet pictures figuring the inspiration of wayang kulit shadow plays.
Ubud Style, figuring the Balinese activities and daily life and other natural views.
Pengosekan Style, featuring animals pictures and plants as the components to fill the whole canvas.
Batuan Style, using balance of naturalistic and stylized, fill it with score of people with wide-ranging scale such as a temple dance, a rice harvest or fishing expedition.
Young Artist, presents children activities with black outline and sometimes have weird colors such as pink, purple or blue.
Modern style, influenced by western techniques.

Galleries
You can find painting galleries in Kuta, Seminyak, Jimbaran, Sanur and Ubud.

Museums
Le Mayeurs - Actually it was the home of Belgian Artist Adrien Jean Le Mayeur de Merpes (1880-1958) which now open for public. It islocated infront of Sanur Beach. The pictures are shown mostly of his wife, Ni Pollok, painted at his courtyard Garden.
Neka Art Museum. Open daily at 9am-5pm. This museum has 5 parts, Balinese Painting Hall for showing different kind of painting style above, Arie Smit Pavilion for honoring Arie Smit, a Dutch Artist who has been living at Bali since 1956, Photography Archive Center, which display black-and-white photographs from Bali around 1930s-1940s taken by Robert Koke, an American artist founded the first hotel at Kuta in 1936, Lempad Pavillion, dedicated to I Gusti Nyoman Lempad, a multitalented of Artist and Architect, and last, Contemporary Indonesian Art Hall, which display many works of Artist from all around Indonesia.
